European Spallation Source ESS - Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten
The aim of this facility is to build and operate the most powerful neutron source in the world. The centre will carry out research into materials, energy, healthcare and the environment, and will tackle some of the most important societal problems of our time. The European Spallation Source (ESS) [3] is designed to be the world’s brightest neutron source. The expected instantaneous neutron flux on detectors at ESS will be without precedent [10–12] and neutron reflectometers are the most challeng-ing instruments. ESS will have two of these, FREIA [13] (horizontal reflectometer) and L'European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS) è un centro di ricerca multidisciplinare basato su quella che sarà la più potente sorgente pulsata di neutroni. È attualmente in costruzione a Lund, Svezia. Il suo centro di controllo dei dati e del software (DMSC) è a Copenaghen, Danimarca.
